Why is it safe?
Because we do not ask for your Chia Secret Key. You should never give your secret key to anyone.
Using your “Farmer Public Key” and “Pool Public Key” we can create plots for you to farm with your secret key.
How do I find my “Farmer Public Key” and “Pool Public Key”?
After you have installed Chia and set up your wallet successfully,
If you’re running Chia GUI, please head over to command lines and go to chia directory(activate chia virtual enviroment if you’re using Linux).
Run the command: “chia keys show”, the Farmer public key and Pool public key will be shown:
Showing all private keys:
Master public key (m): abxx….efgh
Master private key (m): abxx….efgh
Farmer public key (XXX):: abxx….efgh
Pool public key (XXX): abxx….efgh
First wallet key (XXX): abxx….efgh
First wallet address: abxx….efgh
Mnemonic seed (24 secret words):
Farmer public key and Pool public key shown above are all we need. This should be all a plotting service needs to create plots for you.
Do not send private keys and mnemonic seed to anyone, they are private.
Can’t I just plot on my own?
Absolutely, the Chia team has made it very easy to create your own plots and fill your disk. However, due to the system requirements of plotting, it is usually very slow to plot on your own. In addition to that, plotting will result in a high amoung of data being written onto your disk, much more than the final plot size. Therefore, if you have an SSD, it will greatly diminish your SSD’s usable life.
On top of that, once the plotting is done, you only need minimally equipped computer to farm Chia.
We understand not everyone wants to build a server farm in their house or buy SSDs just to discard them after plotting a dozen drives. With our service, you can skip the plotting process and start farming fast.
Can’t I just download the completed plots?
Due to cost of cloud storage and our production speed, at over 30 TB a day, this is not really a viable option at the moment. We find that shipping service, especially two day delivery and overnight shipment offer an incredible bandwidth at a fraction of the cost of dedicated fiber optic internet.
With enough demend and possibility of global service, we are considering if adding a dedicated fiber optic to our server room and enable downloading would be viable.
Where are you and where do you service?
We’re based in the US and we currently service the US. Shipping drives to and from the US may not be in your best interest both financially and due to shipping time. Please contact us for more information if you believe we can be of service.
How much does it cost?
We charge US$20 per TB. See full details on the product page.
How fast can you plot?
At peak capacity we can create 50TB+ per day and increasing. Depending on the current workload, we can normally dedicate 10tb a day to an order.
TB vs TiB?
For hard disk drives, per industry standard, 1 GB is defined as 1,000,000,000 bytes. However, that is not how your OS counts space, when viewed by an OS, the capacity displayed is less than the number on your hard drive. A 1 TB hard drive would be reported by the OS as 931 GB (this is GiB). GiB (Gibibytes) is a standard unit used in the field of data processing and is defined as base 1024 instead of 1000.
To avoid confusion and to make the process smooth(since you likely would want us to fill your entire hard drive) we us the hard drive manufacturers TB designation for orders. Otherwise, we would have to calculate the size of the drive you will need to send us for an order, and likely cause confusion. For example, 10 TiB would not fit on a 10 TB Hard Drive. A 10TB Drive will accommodate roughly 91 K32 plots.
When ordering, use the number on your hard drive.
What kind of plots will you make?
We currently make K32 plots. This is the most common and most cost effective plot size for you to farm with. Therefore our chia plotting servers are optimized for K32 production.
Disks can be formatted as EXT4 or NTFS. We recommend EXT4 for Linux Operating Systems, such as Ubuntu etc. For Windows machines, we recommend NTFS, although NTFS will work on Linux as well. We recommend EXT4 for linux because the journaling feature.
If you have a special request for a different format, send us an Email and we will do our best to accommodate.
Damage during shipping?
Disk drives will be packed with packaging material custom made for hard disk drive transportation. We use the same kind of packaging as the OEMs use when shipping to their distributors.
On the off-chance that damage do occur, we have safeguards in place. Our UPS rates are insured, insured to the amount of the cost of our service. However we cannot take responsibility for damage during shipping.
Minimum capacity for single disk drives?
As you have probably noticed, hard disk drives are heavy and require professional packaging. Therefore, small capacity drives may not work out very well financially. However, We will fill any disk size you have.
We may supply disk drives ranging from 8TB to 18TB depending on requirements and availability in the future.
